The major group show of contemporary Chinese artists, recently shown in Italy, and including two of CPU:798’s artists, will move on to the UK in February 2009.

The Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts will be hosting this expanded version of the show, curated by Zhang Wei of Vitamin Creative Space, Davide Quadrio of BizArt in Shanghai and Li Zhenhua of Beijing Art Lab. Artists included are Lu Chunsheng, Wu Ershan, Cao Fei, Yang Fudong, Duan Jianyu, Zhao Liang Pak, Ren Qin Ga, Shen Shaomin, Shueng-chuen, Xu Tan, Tseng Yu-Chin, Zheng Yunhan, Wang Yuyang, Chu Yun, Kan Xuan.

Wang Yuyang’s ever-popular Artificial Moon will again be shown, and Zheng Yunhan will be creating a new version of his major piece, Sunflower Plan, which was first shown at the Nanjing Triennial in October 2008. This new version will be printed to a larger size, approximately 16m in length, to do justice to the detail in the image and it’s immersive effect.
